VW scirocco R. What a shame we don't have this in the us.

Have it in the us? I certainly do not want one of these in me!
That said, what an uninspiring little hatch. Nothing wrong with it, really. Just small and only OK power thanks to a turbo.

Are you not into hot hatches generally, or just the Scirocco in particular?

Specifically the R.
It looks good in silver, but in black not so much. Add to that its specs and it is just bland to me. It is almost like VW turbo'd a 94 Civic and then charged Integra R prices.

I'll admit, I've never really understood all the fuss over it myself. It looks alright, I suppose, but not nearly nice enough to justify the step down in practicality from the equivalent Golf—and this is coming from someone who will happily buy a three-door hatch over a five-door on the basis of looks alone. And I generally prefer smaller cars.
I imagine my being European, and as such not subject to the 'forbidden fruit' appeal of the Scirocco, probably has something to do with it.

I loves me some odd cars. And as an American this technically fits the bill. It just doesn't actually excite me at any level.
If it were sold in America, I would consider one if the price was right... It isn't.
Now, if there were a 3 door STI for sale... Wet dreams would be had.

I honestly like the R. I wouldn't consider though if it had a high price. I love the side view, and the shoulder lines of it, but the back end might benefit from a facelift.
